Shaping the future of Newcastle

Wellbeing & Health

The Newcastle Wellbeing and Health Partnership is made up of organisations with a role to play in improving the wellbeing and health of adults in Newcastle.  This is not a small ambition, and we hope that by working together we are more likely to achieve it.

Newcastle City Council, your NHS in Newcastle and the voluntary and community sector work with each other and with people from communities to deliver changes in the city with the overall aim of making sure adults live long, healthy, happy lives - with a particular emphasis on those people who may experience inequalities in their wellbeing.  As there are lots of people in the city and many factors that can impact on their health and wellbeing, we divide our work into different boards and groups to focus on particular priorities.

All our work should contribute to one or more of our agreed outcomes, which are that adults should:

·                 be healthy

·                 have a good quality of life

·                 make a positive contribution

·                 exercise choice and control

·                 be free from discrimination or harassment

·                 have economic wellbeing

·                 maintain personal dignity

You can find out more about these outcomes on our website, www.wellbeingforlife.org.uk.  On the site you can also find out:
