Regeneration Festival

10am to 3pm - 6 March 2008 - St James’ Park, Bamburgh Suite

This Festival was held to show the exciting range of regeneration going on across the whole city, and how much communities, the council and its partners are working together to make it all happen. As you know, regeneration is not just about bricks and mortar, but also about the ways in which attitudes change and communities interact. There were lots of fun activities and ways for people to learn more about how they can get involved in regenerating their city.

Just some of the projects showcased on the day were:

  • Belta the Bunny – an East End project tackling the causes of childhood obesity
  • Meet the Ranger and give them your views
  • Deaf Chef demonstrations
  • Learn more about development of housing  in Scotswood
