Accountable Body |
|
The City Council is the accountable body in respect of NRF funds. The accountable body is the organisation which is responsible to Central Government through Government Office North East for the receipt and use of NRF funds and realisation of the overall delivery plan and is responsible for meeting the potential liabilities that flow from the DCLG conditions of grant. |

The development and assessment process of particular projects to make sure that they provide value for money and that they will tackle the problem to be addressed. |

Approval conditions |
|
All projects are subject to a number of standard terms and conditions. In addition special conditions may be imposed for certain projects depending upon the purpose and size of the grant aid applied for. Any necessary special condition will be attached to the Project Appraisal. |

The Neighbourhood Renewal Sub Group is a citywide regeneration partnership which has been mandated by the LSP to approve NRF funding in line with agreed criteria and conditions. The Sub Group comprises representatives from the public, private and voluntary sectors together with community representatives and other area regeneration partnerships. |

Floor Target |

Previous targets tended to focus on raising average standards, but these new targets concentrate on raising minimum standards for disadvantaged groups or areas, or a narrowing of the gap between them and the rest of the country. |

Neighbourhood Renewal Fund Grant |

Neighbourhood Renewal Fund (NRF) is a direct grant from central Government which has been given to local authorities which include wards in the most deprived 10% of wards in the country. |
